Lent & Easter Worship & Events

Lenten Season at Friendship Celebration 2020

The season of Lent is a forty-day season set aside for reflection, repentance and renewal.  Some people use this time to give something up, others take on a cause of service or devotion, but the whole purpose is to draw closer to Jesus and in so doing, become more like Him.

Frederick Buechner offers this observation about repentance, “To repent is to come to your senses.  It is not so much something you do as something that happens.  True repentance spends less time looking at the past and saying, ‘I’m sorry,’ than to the future and saying, ‘Wow!’”  Its this aspect of going “from woe to wow” that will serve as a theme for this season of Lent as we consider the words of Jesus in Matthew 23.

You are invited to take part in special worship opportunities throughout Lent and Holy Week.

We hope you are able to join us for the Lenten journey, “From Woe to Wow!”  It’s through the cross and empty tomb that our hurts are healed and our past yields to an ever-promising future.
