Joy Kaufmann serves at Friendship Celebration as our Connections Coordinator. She loves meeting new people, getting to know them, introducing them to new friends, and helping them get connected to the life and ministry here at Friendship. She is responsible for our guest services ministry, called the Welcome Ministry, as well as our small group ministry, called Life Groups.

Joy is a native Idahoan, growing up on a farm in Eden, Idaho with four younger brothers. Three of her brothers, as well as her parents, still live in Idaho.  After graduating from high school, Joy attended Concordia University, Chicago where she met her husband, Tim. She graduated as a Director of Christian Education (DCE). They have been married for almost 30 years. They have two adult children, Jonah and Hannah. Jonah and his wife Megan live in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where Jonah serves as a DCE. They have one daughter, Sarah. Tim and Joy’s daughter, Hannah, lives in Twin Falls, Idaho, and is a nail tech.

Tim is our other DCE on staff here at Friendship. Over their 30 years of ministry, Tim and Joy have served congregations in New York, New Jersey, Texas, Chicago, and California. They moved from Orange, California in August of 2022 to serve as Friendship Celebration’s DCEs. Joy enjoys singing in the church choir, playing Bunco, traveling, sewing for her granddaughter, needlepoint work, cooking for her family, and canning various fruits she picks from local farms and orchards.
